Really, Celtics?

Tell me you didn't just feel any momentum the Celtics had go out when Kendrick Perkins hit the floor with a knee injury. The team seemed almost lifeless after that, lackadaisical at both ends of the floor. In my eyes Rondo seemed to almost fade away during the game and it felt like we were back in 2008, The Big Three carrying Rondo but to no avail.

While I'm not surprised that the Celtics lost (this series just seemed destined for a Game 7) it's the way it happened that bothered me. They easily played worse than their Game 1 performance and played with almost no urgency tonight, as if to say "That's OK, we've still got one more to play."

I'm sorry, but I want no part of Kobe Bryant in a Game 7 in Los Angeles. More importantly, what happens if Kendrick Perkins is unable to play? Who steps up to the big stage?

Rasheed Wallace? The most likely option, but is just as likely to crumble as he is to succeed.

Big Baby? Except for Game 4 he's pretty much been a non-factor, with that one game missing a key component of the Lakers: Andrew Bynum.

Shelden Williams? Painful to watch, especially since you know he's trying.

What's that leave, Scal for big men off the bench? I'll freely admit that I'm a big Scal fan (and not for his "talent") and the man gives his best when he's on the court, but do you really want to see a Scalabrine vs. Gasol/Odom matchup in Game 7 of the NBA Finals? Yeah, me neither.

We've got two days to wait and see how the Celtics will prepare, if Perk will be able to play and if we can avoid another crushing playoff defeat in Boston this year. Let the waiting begin.

The First Blog: Come on in!

I've been putting it off for too long, but I'm finally entering the blogging world. Yes, I'm extremely late to the party as usual but I've found myself needing a bigger outlet than my one line Facebook musings I love to make.

I also love to share my thoughts on a variety of subjects and topics and since I haven't written too much of anything over the last two years I figured this would be a great place to start!

So welcome, enjoy and feel free to comment agree (and disagree) with me as you see fit!
